About the EYESpeak Forums

Voice your opinions on 'EYESpeak'.

The EYESpeak Forum area is where you can post comments about items in the news or just air your opinions on matters generally.

You can view the Forum area by selecting the 'Comment on this item' link that appears below news items on Enderby EYE (takes you directly to the messages about the item), or by using the 'Forum' link on the main menu situated on the left of each page, (which will take you to the Forum index page).

Anyone can view the Forum area, but in order to post a reply or begin a new topic, you need to register as a forum member. Membership of the EYESpeak forum is FREE. There is a short 'one-time' registration process which is designed to authenticate your membership, prevent access to the forum by automatic spam bots and protect your privacy.

Please read  » EYESpeak Forum Q & A's  if you have any difficulty with the registration process.

The EYESpeak Forum area opens in a new browser window or 'tab', so you can always return directly to the Enderby EYE page you were viewing.

The Forums are hosted by phpbbserver.com who host over 15,000 message boards for organisations and individuals. The service is provided to Enderby EYE free of charge by phpbb who in turn meet their own costs by displaying unobtrusive banner advertising on their pages.

EYESpeak Forum Q & A's

Why do I have to register to post a comment?

Unfortunately, message board systems are often abused by people 'dumping' spurious links to infected sites or other bogus material. We want our registered members to be protected and to be able to use the board for its genuine purpose. You can still view comments without registering... but the better choice is to register and take part!

What is subscriber validation?

It is now common practice for persons registering with a message board to have an email sent to the email address they specified when registering. The email contains a link which, when clicked on, confirms your email address actually exists and completes your registration.

I tried to register, but didn't receive a confirmation email with a link to complete the registration process

Two possible reasons for this. 1) The email address you specified was mis-spelt or could not be found. 2) The mail has been mis-identified by a spam fiter as being a spamming email and re-directed to a special folder. Please check any folder that usually contains suspected spam emails.

Why does the registration page ask if I am human?

In conjunction with the graphic panel (where you type in the characters displayed in the image), it helps guard against malicious mechanical programmes that attempt to 'impersonate' legitimate human subscribers.

I can see buttons for 'private messages' and links that, when clicked on, display "not authorised" messages.

Some of the boards functions are reserved for registered members only. Some functions (private messaging for example) have been disabled for both registered and non-registered viewers. This is to minimise the risk of someone using the system to hassle another member or group of members. We may at some future point review this option, but for the present, some items remain disabled.

Some links to older news stories have stopped working... why?

If an item attracts little or no comment after a period of time, it is 'pruned' to conserve space

If none of the above answer your question/s, please contact us. As new enquiries/questions are received, we will add them to the Q & A list.
