Everyone Active has some right royal challenges for June

Posted on May 27, 2022 by staff

You would need to have been living on the moon to not realise that June 2022 is royally special.

This ‘Jubilee’ June, the management of Enderby Leisure Centre have issued five new online challenges for fitness enthusiasts to get their teeth into.

On their website, Everyone Active asks – who will be crowned champion by the end of June?

The challenges for registered members cover a variety of neatly themed ‘royal’ activities. As a prime example their website introduces the first challenge – Royal Walkies Step Challenge – by asking “How many steps can you track this June to keep our four-legged friends happy? (No Corgi required!)” Those taking part can connect their Fitbit or Misfit via connected devices to track their steps.

Next is a Calories Challenge …. A Royal Calorie Knockout.

The invitation is to go calorie burning crazy during June to see how many can you burn. For this challenge all types of activity counts. Once again simply keep track in a planner or via a connected device.

Next is a swimming challenge – Swim The Jubilee Line!

This novel idea asks participants to swim the 36km (22.4 miles) of the Jubilee Line. Any stroke, any pool (or sea!), any time, just log the swim distances in an online planner or via a connected device to enter.

Next is a running activity which similarly uses technology –  simply track your run in your planner or via a connected device such as Fitbit, Strava or MapMyRun to enter.

The idea is to run around all of London’s Royal Parks to celebrate her Majesty’s 70th year on the throne. Could you, dear reader, complete all 45km (27.8miles)? That’s the Royal Park Run Challenge!

Finally, you may decide that the Royal Ride Cycling Challenge is for you. Simply cycle between two of the Queen’s favourite residences, Windsor Castle and Balmoral – a total of 858km (533miles)! All cycling activity counts.

If you can complete the Cycling Challenge in June, simply track it in your planner or via a connected device to enter.
