Christmas celebrations in Blaby will this year see Louis and Brett Deacon, Rugby players for Leicester Tigers and England, turning on the town’s festive lights along with special guest Kuba, at Johns Court shopping precinct.
The big switch on will take place on Friday November 30 at 6.30pm, which will be followed by late night shopping until 8pm.
There will be a road closure from the Fox and Tigers pub on Lutterworth Road up to the Aldi roundabout from 10pm on Thursday November 29 and will reopen on Friday after the event.
This will allow for Blaby Farmers Market to run during the morning until 1pm.
From 4pm there will be a hive of activity with stalls, children’s rides, bouncy castle with Minnie & Mickey, gospel choir, live music, the “best shop window” competition, fun on the BB19 bus and a hog roast.
Santa will also pay a flying visit with his real reindeer and brand new sleigh to complete the festive atmosphere, plus music from Enderby Youth Band.
The event has been organised by Blaby Parish Council in partnership with Blaby District Council.
