What is ‘Brass Factor’?
Brass Factor began in 2010 as a concept to help encourage the next generation of brass band players to continue playing for many years to come.
By taking the tradition of brass bands, mixing it with the latest trend in talent show formats, the Brass Factor organisation have created events which have broken the mould of traditional brass band events.
The format
Six brass bands compete in the talent show style competition in front of an all-star panel of judges.
Each band is required to play a 20 minute entertainment programme, which slightly varies from traditional brass band music.
Once all the bands have played, the audience and judges then vote to see which brass band has the ‘Brass Factor’!
‘Brass Factor’ has been a huge success since it started in 2010. raising the profile of brass bands and providing a much needed platform for future talented musicians.
The competition is being held at The Engine Shed, York Road, Wetherby LS22 7SU. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Advance tickets: are £10, tickets on the Door: £12.
