Organisers of the upcoming Enderby Village Fete report that everything is on-track for a great event on Saturday, July 30th.
The fete is taking place in the grounds of Brockington College on Blaby Road, Enderby. A good number of local groups and businesses have made arrangements to manage stalls and/or provide displays, and more are being added even as the date approaches.
At the last count, close to 30 stalls are geared up to exhibit a variety of locally produced art and craft work and local organisations will have information about their activities.
Among the planned attractions spread around the college grounds will be a demonstration by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue and Blaby Local Policing Unit will have a stall. The Blaby BB19 Youth Bus will also be on the site.
There will be a toddler area with a bouncy castle and a marquee where young people can try their hand at drawing. The more active amongst adult visitors might be tempted to try’ Zumba’, a dance/fitness programme based around latin-inspired music.
Live music throughout the afternoon is being provided by local musicians and visitors will be able to relax in a ‘food area’ and drinks bar – with tables and seating.
Plans for the event began forming following a meeting over twelve months ago at which a large number of local residents expressed a wish to see such an event in Enderby. It will be the first of its kind to be held in the village for a good number of years – and the organisers are hoping it will be a springboard for a similar event on an annual basis.
