With temperatures in the mid 20’s, the Enderby Village Fete was being hailed a success.
It will be a relief to the organisers of the fete, the first event of its kind for many years, that it was attended by around 700 people who were able to stroll around almost 50 stalls – manned by local organisations and individuals.
First reports are that it was an extremely successful day and although there was the odd glitch with parts of a packed programme, the event certainly proved that an annual village fete is certainly a reasonable aspiration.
The organising committee are due to hold a ‘de-briefing’ meeting on 22nd August after which a more complete account will be available.
First pictures are in – and we are adding them as we receive them!
