Enderby Lawn Tennis Club Open Day

Posted on April 14, 2013April 17, 2013 by staff

Sunday April 14th saw an Open Day at Enderby Lawn Tennis Club, Mill Lane, Enderby, marking the start of the 2013 season and the official opening of the club’s three new artificial grass courts.

Many family groups and individuals joined in the afternoon’s festivities, partaking of cakes from the cake stall or attempting to guess the number of sweets in a jar as well as other fun games and challenges.

The Open Day also contained the official opening of the club’s new artificial grass courts with a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the afternoon’s celebrity guest, Leicester City F.C. midfielder and Welsh International, Andy King.

After the opening ceremony, the Leicester City star presented a series of medals to young club members for their remarkable performances in a recent tournament. (Some photos below)

The event took place on a day that started bright but was then characterised by a brisk wind and sunshine interspersed with threatening clouds that fortunately did not produce any rainfall until the end, when the the only activity impacted by a brief shower was the ‘clearing-up’ operation.

(If anyone has any photos of the day, please share them with the Enderby EYE website!)
