On November 11th, the band will form part of the ‘We’ll Meet Again’ concert to be held at Curve. Over the last few years the band has become something of a regular performer at the £61m city centre venue, having performed there for the Christmas production of ‘Hello Dolly’, helped celebrate its tenth birthday, provided music for opening nights and appeared in last year’s ‘Pack Up Your Troubles’ concert.
The Curve event is titled ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and as the title implies, it is a concert themed on World War Two.
The concert aims to tell the story of what it was like to live in Leicestershire during the war, through music, photographs and the memories of those who were there at the time.
Later in the month (28th), and moving across the City to the historic De Montfort Hall, the band will be guests of the Rock Choir in a fund raising concert for the local charity Rainbows.
This concert will be hosted by local radio personalities Monica Winfield and Dave Andrews and will feature Rock Choir’s trademark brand of uplifting music.
Band spokesman, Ian Hayto commented:
“Obviously we’re really pleased to be asked to perform at these two great venues. These are both high-profile events, and reflect the reputation and profile the band is building. It’s great to be asked back to Curve, having played at last year’s ‘Pack Up Your Troubles’ concert. That was a spectacular event which proved to be very popular and we are very much hoping this year’s concert will be the same.
We’re sure the concert with Rock Choir will also be very popular and it’s actually another chance for us to team up with Sarah Stevens who is their musical director. Sarah is well known to us as she is a regular fixture at our Christmas Concert, so we know what a great musician she is.
Also, November sees our local association contest. That, along with two big concerts to prepare for, means we are in for a very busy month!”
Tickets for the concerts will be available at the respective venue’s box offices, and further details can be found in the calendar pages on the Band’s website, or on Curve and De Montfort Hall’s websites.
