The competition, held in the sports hall of the prestigious Corby Business Academy, saw two Enderby Junior teams compete alongside four other teams – two teams from the Corby Dodgeball Club and two teams from the Harborough Hurricanes Dodgeball Club.
Among spectators at the tournament were parents and friends of the Enderby Junior team and the afternoon was held to be a great success.
An Enderby Junior Dodgeball spokesperson commented on the Club’s Facebook page:
[The tournament] was a very well run tournament and a very enjoyable experience for our junior members, parents and coaches.
Enderby Junior Dodgeball were obviously very proud to announce one of their teams (Enderby ‘B’) finished the day as ‘winners’!
The Enderby ‘B’ team came top of the competition, although all the matches were ‘friendlies’, designed to give the junior players of each participating team experience of playing in a competitive environment (ie, unfamiliar venue and opponents, etc.) Both Enderby Junior teams did their club proud!
Faced with this scenario, both Enderby teams performed well, giving rise to optimism that Enderby Junior Dodgeballers have the potential to achieve great things.
Enderby Junior Dodgeball Club are now looking forward to inviting the other clubs involved to the Enderby Dodgeball Club’s home venue, Enderby Leisure Centre, in February 2016.
Anyone who wants to come along and join in the Dodgeball fun can contact the Head of Junior Dodgeball Development, Liam O’Sheehan.
The Junior training sessions take place over two hours on Sundays at Enderby Leisure Centre.
The first hour (9.30am-10.30am) is for 5-10 year olds and the second hour (10.30am-11.30am) is for 11-14 year olds.
The cost of each session is just £2 per player.
