Disability sports club launches at Enderby Leisure Centre

disability multi sportBlaby District Council has teamed up with LARISA (Leicestershire and Rutland Inclusive Sports Association) to launch a new sports club for adults with disabilities.

The launch event, taking place on Thursday 15 May, will have a range of activities on offer for people to try including Boccia, New Age Kurling, Goalball and Sitting Volleyball.

The aim is to attract local adults with a disability to try out the sports on offer, paving the way for the new sessions, which will run for a minimum of twelve weeks from 22 May to the 7 August 2014.

If the sessions prove to be successful Blaby District Council will look at ways to sustain the group.

The launch event is free, taking place at Enderby Leisure Centre on Thursday 15 May, 10am – 1pm.

Participants should wear sports clothing and bring a drink, and carers and support staff are encouraged to take part too.
