Council Grants available for Community Groups in the District of Blaby

council grants graphicsA new round of funding is available for community groups in Blaby District looking to expand or develop their activities.

Any community group based in, and benefitting residents in Blaby District, may be eligible to apply for a community grant funded by Blaby District Council.

There are three types of grant community groups can apply for:

  1. Capital Grants – Up to £5,000 for larger projects which must be match-fundedup to at least 50% of the total project cost
  2. Revenue Grants – Up to £750 for projects or small purchases that benefit the community. Any grants over £350 must be match-funded; with volunteer timeand donation of goods and services counting towards this requirement.
  3. Staying Healthy Grants – Up to £1000 for projects that meet the Council’s three staying healthy key prioritiesGroups who have benefitted from a grant within the last two years are not eligible to apply.

Priority will be given to new applicants and those who focus on the Council’s key objectives: Economy and Skills, Health and Wellbeing as well as Homes and Communities.

The grant programme aims to support a wide range of community groups. The last grant awards totalled £18,780.

Groups who have benefitted from grants have included Vista, Countesthorpe Cricket Club and Braunstone Foodshare.
