Community groups to benefit from ‘Dragon’s Den’

Posted on February 20, 2017 by staff

Local community and not-for-profit groups in the district of Blaby are set to benefit from a Dragon’s Den style event.

Clubs, community groups and organisations will get to pitch their project ideas to an expert panel and get information on suitable grants, advice and support.

The event is being hosted by Blaby District Council and will take place on Monday 27th March 2017.

Representatives will be in attendance from a range of partners including Leicestershire County Council’s SHIRE Grants scheme, Voluntary Action Leicestershire and Community Foundation Leicestershire & Rutland.

Cllr David Freer, Cabinet Portfolio holder for Partnerships and Corporate Services says:

“With all these experts in one room, this is an ideal event for existing community groups who need a bit of extra help to develop or a new group looking to get a project off the ground.”

Groups are invited to apply by submitting their project proposals by Tuesday 28th February.
