Christmas tree recycling site

recycle_xmas_treesPeople in Blaby are being urged to start their new year on a ‘green footing’ by recycling their Christmas tree when they have finished with it.

The Council’s refuse and recycling team will be collecting trees as part of their standard garden waste collection after new year or residents can visit one of five drop off points listed below from Boxing Day until Tuesday January 7:

Countesthorpe – Co-op supermarket car park, Main Street
Elmesthorpe – Village hall car park, Wilkinson Lane
Enderby Leisure Centre car park , Mill Lane
Glenfield – Stamford Street Car Park
Huncote – The Pavilion car park, Sportsfield lane

People can also take their trees to the Whetstone tip (please visit www.leics.gov.uk for opening times) or put their tree out with the bins on the first garden waste collection day in January.

For more information on refuse and recycling in the district email env.health@blaby.gov.uk or call 0116 272 7555.
