Enderby Heritage Group re-jig meetings as Leicester City Football Club celebrate with open-top bus city tour

heritage mary sloaneEnderby Heritage Group have re-jigged a planned special viewing of the excellent Mary Sloane art exhibition at the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery.

Following on from the Leicester City Football Club’s confirmation as the Barclay’s Premier League Champions, the football club have arranged their open-top bus tour of Leicester city centre to take place on Monday 16th May, which coincides with the original planned date for a special viewing of the Mary Sloane art exhibition.

The LCFC’s bus tour is planned to commence at 6pm and finish at Victoria Park at 7pm, with the celebrations continuing through until 9pm.

The route will force road closures and its anticipated will involve thousands of people making their way to Leicester to line the route, etc.

In a statement, Elizabeth York from the Heritage Group says that they have been contacted by the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery pointing out likely difficulties in the area.

The Heritage Group congratulate Leicester City Football Club on their amazing achievement but agree with the Museum and Art Gallery and think it is prudent to rearrange the Art Gallery visit.

As a consequence, the Group have re-jigged the next couple of meetings.

To clarify…..
Monday 16th May 2016 – we will bring forward the Enderby Walk – meet as usual at 7.30pm Enderby Civic Centre Car Park

Monday 27th June 2016 – rearranged special viewing of the Mary Sloane art exhibition at the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery. 7.15pm – 9.15pm
