Meetings are held at 8pm in the Enderby Civic Centre, King Street, Enderby.  (Access is from the entrance off King Street). All are welcome.

Attendees are asked to contribute £2 each which covers the Group’s costs.

Enderby Heritage Group’s March meeting features local historical personality, Charles Lorraine Smith of Enderby Hall.

The next meeting takes place on Monday 12th March at 8pm in Enderby Civic Centre.

Group meetings are at 8pm in the Civic Centre (King Street entrance) unless otherwise noted. All are welcome.

Attendees are asked to contribute £2 each, to cover the group’s costs.

Enderby Heritage Group November Meeting

Enderby Heritage Group pictureToday (Monday 20 November 2017) Enderby Heritage Group will be holding their final meeting for this year.

The topic is “Enderby Quarries” and the talk is being delivered by local historian Nigel Moreton.

The event takes place between 7.30pm – 9pm in the Enderby Civic Centre, King Street.

All are welcome and attendees are asked to contribute £2 each (which covers costs).

The life of Enderby Squire Charles Loraine Smith

A symposium on the life of Charles Loraine Smith, Squire of Enderby (1751-1835) is to be held on October 24th at the Melton Carnegie Museum, Thorpe End, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE13 1RB.

Applications for tickets has to be made by Friday 13th October 2017.

Tickets cost £10 to include an essay and refreshments of tea and cake

Timetable for the day is:

1.30pm – Melton Carnegie: Exhibition of the life and work of Charles Loraine Smith (1751-1835) of Enderby, Leicester

2-4pm – Various talks from Dr Robert Fountain, Sally Mitchell, Heidi Strobel & Philip Warren

Enderby Heritage Group 2017 Meetings

Enderby Heritage Group pictureEnderby Heritage Group kick off their 2017 meeting programme tonight (Monday 15 May 2017) with a talk by Dave Ricketts entitled “Some Enderby Second World War Soldiers and Airmen”.

As usual the venue is Enderby Civic Centre and the event begins at 7,30pm.

The Enderby Heritage Group was set up in 1999 and consists of mostly local people with an interest in Enderby but welcome any interest from around the world.

There is no fee or forms – just contact the Group by letter or e-mail.

Group meetings are usually at 7.30pm in the Civic Centre (entrance off King Street) and all are welcome. (Those attending meetings are asked to contribute £2 each to cover costs).

  • Monday 3rd July: Visit to Wigston Frame Work Knitters Museum.
