Blaby District Council hosted their second “Blaby District Means Business” event for local companies at the Marriott Hotel, Leicester and has plans to develop and run further business networking and information sharing events.
The next event is planned to be held in May.
The meeting included a brief speaker programme with topics on growth, priorities for economic development, funding and skills-training programmes, incentives on offer to help employers to recruit an apprentice, and the chance to network.
Cllr Tony Greenwood, portfolio holder for Planning, Economic Development and Housing Strategy at Blaby District Council, said:
“The Council recognises that local businesses can benefit from the support from ourselves and our partner agencies, and they may not know what help is out there for them.
“By holding these events we are hoping that every business who attends leaves knowing that the opportunities are out there to help them achieve growth. We would encourage small to medium sized enterprises to get in touch with us to hear news of funding and support programmes that may benefit them.”
