The newly formed Marie Curie Cancer Care Support Group in South Leicestershire held a Spring Coffee Morning to raise funds at St Pius X Church Hall, Narborough on Saturday 12 February and raised over £680.00 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Many people from the local community came along to support the event and enjoyed wonderful cakes, tea and coffee.
Sapcote Garden Centre supported the event by donating Spring plants and bird feeders and stalls included Phoenix Cards and Osborne books.
The next event on the calendar of fundraising events for the group is a Blooming Great Tea Party to be held on Wednesday 22nd June 2011 at 52 Abbey Road, Enderby LE19 2DA.
All the money raised from the fundraising events will help more Marie Curie Nurses to provide free care to patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses in the comfort of their own homes or one of the charity’s hospices.
To get help from the Marie Curie Nursing Service, talk to your GP, district nurse or discharge nurse.
