Blaby District Over 50s Forum will discuss local issues and services

Group of senior citizensAnyone aged 50 years or over who wants to ‘have their say’ – and be kept informed about local issues and services that affect them – can come along to the Blaby District Over 50s Forum.

The next meeting is taking place on Monday 8th June from 2pm until 4pm in the council chamber, at the Council offices in Narborough.

There will be guest speakers at the meeting talking about new schemes in the district to help to tackle isolation and loneliness among older people.

Other information at the meeting will include community transport options for residents and feedback from the recent Ageing Well Survey conducted by Blaby District Council, which closed at the start of May.

Roy Swann, the newly elected Chair of the forum, said:

“This is an exciting time to join the forum as we start a new programme of topics for the year.

It’s a great place to find out about services, get advice, share your opinions and experiences and talk with other residents.

New members are always welcome.”
