Blaby District Older Person’s Forum Annual Conference

Blaby District Older Persons’ Forum Annual Conference is taking place on Wednesday 9th March 2011, 1.30 till 4.00pm at the Council Chamber, Blaby District Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, Leicester, LE19 2EP.

The conference is open to residents of Blaby District aged 50 and over, however places are limited.

The guest speaker is from Age Concern Leicestershire and Rutland and shall speaking about how Age Concern can help in the daily lives of older people and advising on changes to services such as benefits.

There will also be displays from various organisations offering advice and information.

The purpose of this forum is to bring together older people to express their views on issues relating to their health and well being and the range of services available to them.

The Forum meets four times a year for the following:

  1. To seek advice and give information on all issues affecting older people.
  2. To identify priority areas and how this affects their daily lives.
  3. To advocate inclusion of older people into the community
  4. To share knowledge and promote learning and involvement.

The Blaby District Older Person’s Forum is currently seeking new members from across the district who feel they would like to represent their neighbourhood, to be a voice and raise concerns for older residents.

Anyne interested need not have any previous experience, just to be keen to represent their neighbours.
