Posted on November 19, 2011November 27, 2011 by staff

The next Blaby District Older Peoples’ Forum shall be meeting on Monday 5th December, 2-4pm at the Council Chamber, Desford Road Narborough.

This quarter, we welcome the children’s choir from The Pastures Primary School, Narborough, who will be entertaining us with festive singing. In addition, we shall be hearing from Leicestershire LinK with a talk entitled “What your local health service can do for you”.

The purpose of this forum is to bring together older people to express their views on issues relating to their health and well being and the range of services available to them and meets four times a year for the following

·         To seek advice and give information on all issues affecting older people.

·         To identify priority areas and how this affects their daily lives.

·         To advocate inclusion of older people into the community

·         To share knowledge and promote learning and involvement.

The Blaby District Older Person’s Forum are currently seeking new members from across the district who feel they would like to represent their neighbourhood, to be a voice and raise concerns for older residents.

If you would like to join the forum, please come along to the next meeting to find out more, or call Darren Walker at Community Action Partnership on  Tel: 0116 272 7669
