Big summer of sport in Blaby district

A fun-packed programme of sport and physical activity is taking place in Blaby district this summer.

From traditional sports like tennis, netball and badminton to the new dance fitness craze, Bokwa, Active Together Blaby have organised something for everyone in towns and villages across the district.

Councillor David Clements, portfolio holder for health improvement at Blaby District Council said: “This is going to be a fantastic summer of sport in Great Britain and we want to give people in Blaby district every opportunity to play their part in it.

“We have organised activities and events for people of all ages and abilities so everyone can join in, get fit and most importantly, have a great time.”

An outdoor danceathon is taking place at Northfield Park, Blaby, on Friday July 13 from 6pm-9pm as part of the Big Dance 2012, the UK’s biggest celebration of dance.
