Alcohol stolen from Whetstone shop

Police have released the image of a man they would like to talk to following the report of a number of thefts from a shop in Whetstone (larger image at base of article).

The incidents happened between 1.10pm and 1.40pm on Thursday July 14, when a man was spotted stealing alcohol from the shelves of the shop in Lutterworth Road.

The man entered the shop between two and four times, taking bottles of alcohol with him.

PCSO Thomas Sharpe, an officer who covers Whetstone, said: “The man responsible entered the shop a number of times so we hope that this means that there will have been more opportunity for witnesses to spot him.

“If you were in the shop that day, perhaps during your lunch break, and can remember seeing a man stealing alcohol then please get in touch.

“I would also like people to look at the man in the picture. Are you him or do you know him? He was in the shop that day and we would like to talk to him to help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PCSO 6176 Thomas Sharpe on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 6176. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
