‘A Place To Grow’ Open Day

Posted on July 18, 2013 by staff

place to grow open dayA Place to Grow’s Summer Open Day is set to be held on Tuesday 30th July.

The event, described as a Fun Family Day Out, will take place between 11am and 3pm. The weather forecast is good and organisers are hoping for a good turn out.

Admission to the ground on Mill Lane, Enderby (adjacent to the Leisure Centre) is free. Access is through the Leisure Centre car park. Disability parking and wheelchair access is available.

The Open Day celebrates the successes the organisation has enjoyed over the past twelve months, which has not been without incident. Eye readers may recall that the premises were vandalised earlier by an arson attack on Saturday 19th January. The fire left two large sheds completely gutted, water butts and a metal container that held a large amount of garden tools including lawnmowers, strimmers, spades and forks. The community rallied around and the project was rebuilt.

The day’s activities include art and crafts, a drumming workshop, family village sports games, a teddy bear’s picnic and much more.

There will be stalls offering cakes, organic produce, plants and information on physical and mental health wellbeing. A rafffle and tombola are also planned.
