The South Leicestershire Fundraising Support Group piled on the £££s recently for Marie Curie Cancer Care by raising over £1,500 at a Blooming Great Tea Party held in Enderby.
Fundraising volunteer Joan Rampton opened her gardens for the event and was supported by local neighbours who provide a selection of plants for sale.
With traditional tea and sumptuous home made cakes, Tombola, cards, a raffle, bric-a-brac, jewellery, handbags the event was enjoyed by many friends, neighbours and supporters.
One raffle was held to win an incredible cake donated by the daughter of fundraising supporter and host of the event, Joan Rampton.
Volunteer Cara Ackerman said:
“Many local people came and supported the event in the sunshine. The group could not be so successful without the help of local volunteers who work very hard to help raise funds and to reach such an amazing amount for the charity.”
Given the choice, most of us would want to die at home, surrounded by the people and things we love and Marie Curie Cancer Care makes that choice possible for patients and families – right here in Leicestershire.
