Fatal road traffic collision in Huncote

collision investigation vanOfficers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Huncote.

The collision happened at around 6.35pm last night (Sunday June 30, 2013) and involved one vehicle, a blue Ford Mondeo.

The Mondeo, which was travelling towards Huncote at the time, left Narborough Road near to the junction with Denman Lane and overturned.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have named the driver as Jonathan Rhys Jones, 27, a father-of-two.

Detective Constable Ady Keeble, the investigating officer, said:

“We would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to please contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC 506 Ady Keeble on 101, follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer and when prompted key in their identification number 0506.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.

Calls to 101 cost 15p for the entire call. Some mobile phone providers may charge for the call to Crimestoppers.
