A 21-year-old Whetstone man has died in a two-car collision.
Leigh Taylor, of Whetstone, died at the scene of the crash on the B582 Desford Road, in Enderby, on Sunday evening.
Two cars, a Vauxhall Corsa and a Toyota Yaris, were involved in the collision at 7.05pm.
Mr Taylor was the front-seat passenger in the Corsa.
The Corsa’s driver was yesterday in University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital in a stable condition.
Police said the driver of the Yaris was in Leicester Royal Infirmary in a stable condition, while the passenger in the Yaris was at Glenfield hospital in a stable condition.
Following the crash, the road was closed at its junctions with the A47 and with Forest Road, to allow officers to carry out their investigations and deal with the incident, until 3.30am yesterday.
Detective Constable Seamus Burns, the investigating officer, said:
“The Corsa was travelling towards Desford from Enderby and the Yaris in the opposite direction at the time of the collision.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicles beforehand, to please contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Burns on 101.
