Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary’s serious collision investigation unit are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Blaby at the weekend.
The collision occurred at about 8.31pm on Saturday (September 10) in Countesthorpe Road and involved one vehicle, a blue Renault Clio.
The driver of the car received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where his condition has been described as stable.
The passenger in the car, Ben John Fairlie (16) of Countesthorpe, Leicester, received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he died shortly afterwards.
Detective Constable Adam Sparrow is investigating the collision, he said: “The vehicle was travelling along Countesthorpe Road towards Countesthorpe when the collision occurred about 600 metres north of Hospital Lane.
“We would urge anyone who was travelling along the same road and witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand in the area to contact us. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help with our enquiries.”
